    At KBS, our Client's path to business success begins by empowering them with the information and analysis they need to make informed decisions. Our Client's success is important to us and they can rely on us in seeking solutions to problems that matter. 

     

    Our business vision was, and still is, to provide companies and individuals with professional accounting, business and bookkeeping services with a strong inclination towards delivering customer experience by a deep understanding of our clients' needs. 

    We believe that we are in the accounting/bookkeeping business to provide a service that tailors information to our clients' specific needs. 

    OUR WORK

    KBS Consulting, provides bookkeeping and accounting solutions to diverse companies ranging from computer consultants to construction, retail, doctors, lawyers, as well as, from start-up companies to mid-sized corporations with revenues in the millions. 

    In the beginning of February 2008 with one client, KBS has now expanded to include clients in the Ottawa, Brockville, and Kingston areas, and in many different industries while intensely focusing on quality and customer satisfaction.

    As professional accountants and bookkeepers, we believe there are three critical roles that we must play for any business:

    1. Reduce taxes

    2. Manage cash flow

    3. Improve profits

     

    WHO WE ARE

    Marie Wallace graduated from Algonquin College in the 3 Year Business Admin Program, majoring in Accounting in 1994.  She also graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce and completed the CGA program in 2013 while working as a bookkeeper for a variety of companies. For these companies, she maintained the full accounting cycle until she was hired to work for a CA firm in downtown Ottawa. This opportunity allowed her to experience many different aspects of accounting, such as the following:

    • Preparation of Notice to Readers, Review engagements

    • Corporate and Personal tax returns

    • CRA desk audits for clients

    • File objections to CRA and prepare a file to support the clients situation regarding an objection

    • Prepare income loss projections while working with lawyers and partners of the CA firm

    • Preparation of non-resident personal tax returns, NR4’s and NR6’s, etc

    • Managed the trust department for the firm

    • Dealt with high-worth clients

    When not working Marie is an avid motorcycle rider, owning 3 motorcycles. Marie and her husband can be found riding anywhere a curvy road can be found. Marie also likes to spend time with her family and also likes to kayak and winter hike.

    Derek Sherboneau is a bookkeeper and has been employed at KBS Consulting for several years. Derek is a current student at Algonquin College in the 2 Year Business Admin Program, majoring in Accounting. Derek also manages a ski-shop in downtown Ottawa.

    When not working, Derek is an avid downhill skier, having had the opportunity to ski many mountains around the world. Derek also likes researching about philosophy and Space.
